Supporting the Application of Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Metis and Inuit

Alberta’s Leadership Quality Standard outlines that "A leader supports the school community in acquiring and applying foundational knowledge about First Nations, Metis and Inuit for the benefit of all students."
I continue to develop my commitment to supporting the application of Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Metis and Inuit by: 
  • Taking part in professional learning
  • Organize professional learning opportunities for staff at our school
  • Inviting experts to share in the school
  • Booking programs that support student and teacher learning
  • Providing funds to purchase cultural diverse books and activities for our Library
  • Support our FMNI cohort leader

4 Seasons of Reconciliation

As an Admin team we completed this coarse with our FMNI Lead teacher. This course provided excellent information to understand the background behind reconciliation and provide many opportunities to discuss and reflect with peers and provides excellent resources to take back to the school to lead this process with staff.

Theresa "Corky' Larson-Jonasson was a delight to have present to our school. The students thoroughly enjoyed her humor and knowledge of the First Nations culture.
